Özet

Bal arıları (Apis mellifera), tarımsal üretimin sürdürülebilirliği, biyolojik çeşitliliğin korunması ve ekosistem hizmetlerinin devamlılığı açısından kritik öneme sahip tozlayıcılardır. Ancak son yıllarda iklim değişikliği, habitat kaybı, çevresel kirlilik, pestisit kullanımı, hastalıklar ve parazitler gibi çok sayıda stres faktörü bal arısı kolonilerinin sağlığını tehdit etmektedir. Bu bölümde, iklim değişikliğinin bal arısı kolonileri üzerindeki doğrudan ve dolaylı etkileri kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. Artan sıcaklıklar, değişen yağış rejimleri ve aşırı hava olayları; çiçeklenme dönemlerini, nektar ve polen kaynaklarının sürekliliğini, arıların beslenme davranışlarını ve koloni içi fizyolojik süreçleri etkileyerek koloni dayanıklılığını azaltmaktadır. Ayrıca iklim değişikliğinin hastalık ve parazit baskısını artırması, pestisit maruziyetini dolaylı olarak yükseltmesi ve arı ürünlerinde kirletici birikimine yol açması hem arı sağlığı hem de gıda güvenliği açısından önemli riskler oluşturmaktadır. Bal, polen, propolis ve balmumu gibi arı ürünleri çevresel değişimlerin biyolojik göstergeleri olarak değerlendirilebilmekte ve çevresel izleme çalışmalarında önemli rol oynamaktadır. Sonuç olarak, bal arısı koloni sağlığının korunabilmesi için iklim değişikliğine uyumlu, sürdürülebilir arıcılık uygulamalarının geliştirilmesi ve çevresel risklerin bütüncül yaklaşımlarla yönetilmesi gerekmektedir.
